He has been appointed as a trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust (Puttaparthi, A.P.) on 4 January 2014.\u00a0He was also the Chairman of the Finance Commission until January 2010. He was earlier Advisor to the\u00a0Minister Of Finance\u00a0(2002\u20132004), and is known for his role in economic reforms in India.
